Are you a person who loves to tinker with technical products and equipment? Are you that person who can fix anything? Do you have a mechanically biased hobby or pastime and want to extend this to a career?

Do you have a background in mechanical engineering, mechanics, fabrication, welding or running machines and would love to work in a creative technical role where you are creating new products and developing components as the biggest part of your job?

On offer is a Mechanical Technician's role, joining a very innovative Research and Development team, where you will take responsibility for producing prototypes, machined components, production jigs and assembly fixtures. You will have the ability to work with the design, development, engineering and manufacturing teams to produce accurate prototypes for new products.

This role would suit anyone who loves to tinker with mechanical products and has some experience in running a milling or turning machine, exposure to fabrication and MIG & TIG welding.

The requirements:

  • Experience in both sheet metal and thicker gauge materials.
  • Experience in component machining using both turning centres and milling machines.
  • Experience in welding of both thin and thicker gauge materials would be desirable.
  • Understanding of the process in the design of sheet metal assemblies and the ability to read assembly technical drawings
  • Work with the engineering team to produce jigs and fixtures to aid the assembly of products in the manufacturing process ensuring they are fit for function.
