Payroll Officer

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join a large manufacturing company. The role involves ensuring accurate and timely payroll administration in collaboration with external managed payroll services, adhering to statutory regulations, and providing accurate statistical reporting.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Manage the payment of staff salaries through the ADP IHCM2 Payroll System, including all necessary data collation and input.
  • Ensure accurate calculation of Expat pay, where applicable.
  • Produce and process payroll reports and journals, including end-of-year and P11D filings.
  • Liaise with HMRC and manage compliance with all payroll-related regulations.
  • Maintain accurate manual and computerised records in line with data protection.
  • Administer benefits schemes and manage internal database files and tables.
  • Provide advice to staff and managers on pay, taxation, and National Insurance.
  • Cover HR Assistant duties as required and participate in HR projects or activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in payroll processing, including knowledge of SSP, SMP, SPP, P11D, and end-of-year procedures.
  • Familiarity with HMRC legislation and strong analytical skills to resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and maintain discretion with sensitive data.
  • Experience with ADP IHCM2 and Time & Attendance software is advantageous.
