We are looking for a

Financial Accountant

to join our

Finance Team

based out of

Edgbaston, Birmingham (B15):

  • Competitive Salary
  • Hybrid role: 2 days in the office work from home 3 days a week

As our

Financial Accountant ,

you will join and an

established Financial Accounting team

where you will be incorporating all matters relating to

tax, treasury, group reporting, statutory reporting, compliance and controls.

You will take the lead on month end reporting,

year end reporting

and

setting up accounts and processes for 2025/2026

whilst managing the

balance sheet reconciliation

and escalating any non-compliance.

Ideally you will be

experienced Qualified Financial Accountant

, however we will consider

a part-qualified

accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent), from an

audit background

would Higley desirable. Have a

strong technical accounting skills

and knowledge of financial reporting standards coupled with being an

excellent communicator

Financial Accountant

– Key accountabilities:

  • Assist the Financial Controller to manage the balance sheet reconciliation and review process, escalating any non-compliance or issues identified.
  • Communicate and action changes to the DAL (Delegated Authority Limits).
  • Assist in managing the external audit alongside the Financial Controller. This includes Interim, Hardclose, Year-End and Statutory Accounts visits.
  • Assist in delivering the month-end financial results in accordance with prescribed deadlines.
  • Take responsibility for own accounting areas and reporting the results in the Magnitude group reporting package.
  • Ensure compliance with company accounting treatment and reporting rules.
  • Prepare the annual Statutory Accounts in accordance with prescribed accounting standards and deadlines.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual Corporation Tax return, quarterly VAT returns and ad hoc tax queries.
