About the Role

As Finance Manager, you will oversee the company's financial operations, reporting directly to the Managing Director. This hands-on role involves managing daily financial processes, producing management accounts, providing strategic insights, and leading financial process improvements. You will work closely with the leadership team, offering commercial support to help drive the company's continued growth and success.

This role offers significant responsibility and the opportunity to shape the financial future of the business, while being involved in its day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the finance function, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards
  • Oversee all transactional processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash flow forecasting
  • Prepare and deliver insightful management accounts, KPIs, and financial reports to support decision-making
  • Manage the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing financial forecasts
  • Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and cost savings
  • Ensure compliance with tax and government reporting requirements, while managing risk and monitoring debt levels
  • Liaise with external auditors for year-end accounts and ensure smooth audit processes

About You

We are looking for a finance professional with a proven track record in financial management, ideally within a small to medium-sized business. The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, a proactive approach, and experience working closely with senior leadership. You will be comfortable balancing daily financial management tasks with high-level strategic planning.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in financial management, including management accounts, budgeting, and financial reporting
  • Ability to lead and manage a small finance function, with a focus on process improvement
  • Proficiency in financial software such as Sage, QuickBooks, or Xero
  • Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to provide financial insights and recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders and external partners
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience
