We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, responsible for the design, construction, and production of components for electric vehicles.
Applications are invited from graduates with significant industrial experience in a mechanical design role, preferably including rotating or dynamic machines. A sound understanding of fundamental engineering principles and their practical application is essential, along with proficiency in 3D CAD systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design close tolerance machined components, castings, moulded parts, pressed metal components, shafts, bearings, seals, and component selection.
- Build and manage complex 3D models.
- Undertake design analysis, including lifetime and strength calculations on rotating parts and structures.
- Provide fully documented designs.
- Create design layouts and schematics for solutions.
- Provide engineering support within manufacturing and to customers when needed.
Skills and Experience:
- Degree in a mechanical engineering discipline.
- Proficiency in 3D packaging and visualization.
- Experience in designing rotating, dynamic, or moving machinery.
- Strong understanding of design for manufacture, machining tolerances, and GD&T.
- Experience in a structured quality environment and producing DFMEA documentation.
- Ability to manage design activities to meet deadlines.
- Proactive approach in an engineering environment.
