Finance Manager

Reporting to the CFO, this role manages a team of 3. We are ideally looking for a standout finance professional with at least 1-3 years' post qualification experience with the ability to manage a team. The main purpose of the role is to work as part of the Management Team to drive the business forward

Description

To provide day to day management of the finance function, ensuring excellent service and support is provided to all areas of the business whilst ensuring that the business is best placed to make challenging commercial decisions. Whilst the role is within a sizeable business, a balanced approach is needed between disciplined management and decision making whilst fitting in with the existing culture.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to ensure realistic and achievable budgets.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasts, providing insights into variances and recommending corrective actions where necessary.

Strategic Planning:

  • Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations to the senior management team, supporting business decision-making.
  • Monitor financial performance against strategic goals and objectives, identifying areas of risk and opportunity.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and company policies.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and other regulatory bodies as needed.
  • Manage and mitigate financial risks, including currency risk, credit risk, and operational risks.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor the finance team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Ensure that the team operates efficiently and delivers high-quality outputs.

Profile

A successful Finance Manager should have:

  • 1-3years PQE (CA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Proven experience in a managerial role within the Finance department.
  • Strong understanding of financial trends within the industrial / manufacturing industry.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in financial management software.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
