Underwriter Manager Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Head of Underwriting / Underwriting Manager / Underwriting Team Leader to lead our team of case managers and underwriters. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in underwriting with management experience, capable of driving performance and maintaining the highest standards of underwriting quality.
Underwriter Manager Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the team of case managers and underwriters, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
- Oversee the assessment and approval of loan applications, maintaining rigorous underwriting standards.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to the underwriting team to enhance their skills and performance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Develop and implement underwriting strategies to meet business objectives and growth targets.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve overall service delivery.
- Monitor and analyse underwriting performance metrics, reporting to senior management.
- Handle complex underwriting cases and make informed decisions on high-value applications.
- Foster a positive and dynamic work environment that promotes team collaboration and professional development.
Underwriter Manager Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Underwriter, Underwriter Manager, or Underwriter Team Leader within a specialist lender.
- Previous experience managing underwriters and holding an underwriter's mandate.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of specialist lending products and market trends.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Proficient in underwriting software and case management systems.
Underwriter Manager Package
- Competitive salary ranging from £50,000 to £75,000 per annum, depending on experience.
