UK Finance Supervisor
We are working exclusively with one of the global leaders in Home Mechanical Ventilation, Airway Clearance and Sleep therapy on an extremely exciting opportunity for a UK Finance Supervisor to join their site in Stratford-upon-Avon as part of the UK management team.
This role is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the financial transactions of a UK statutory company, which is part of a global group. Working as a key member of a small finance team, this position requires a committed, conscientious finance professional who enjoys a busy environment and is keen to continually improve processes and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Month and year-end closing, ensuring that monthly closings are performed timely and with high quality and according to regulations. Ensure all reconciliations are carried out satisfactorily.
- Financial reporting, internal reporting to HQ and management team, and external reporting
- Cash management, including cash flow forecast
- Plan, coordinate and manage external financial audit in conjunction with the UK Finance Manager
- Manage the finance administration team, include coaching and development of the team
- Approve all financial transactions to include, expenses, accounts payable and accounts receivables
- Credit management to include customer terms, credit limits and collections in conjunction with the Finance Administrator
- Tax declaration of income statement, VAT and administration of taxes
- Statutory reporting including ONS as required
- Develop and improve routines and processes within Finance, including closing, reporting and analysis
- Work closely with the business to drive simplification processes in P&L and finance flows to gain business growth
- Close cooperation with Finance at HQ
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and procedures
- Credit management to include customer terms, credit limits and collections
- Approve all financial transactions to include payroll, accounts payable and receivables
HR & Payroll - Following HR responsibilities are to be covered within the Finance department:
- Administer and process monthly payroll
- Manage and record employee vacation and absences etc for processing by external accountants, in conjunction with the UK Finance & HR Manager
- Administration of insurance, pension schemes etc
- Manage and administration of employee benefits, healthcare scheme etc
- Support Global Legal team with UK Insurances renewals
Requirements:
- At least five years' experience within Finance in a supervisory role
- Recognised Finance Qualification (or working towards) or qualified by extensive experience
- Experience with tier 1 ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system preferred
- Advanced computer skills in Excel and good Microsoft Office skills
- Good knowledge of UK GAAP
- Experience of working in an international group - preferred
- Experience of working in a manufacturing entity - preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be a self-starter and be extremely detail oriented
- Hands on in the day-to-day working tasks
- Leadership skills with the ability to delegate, motivate and inspire team members
- Ability to work independently
- Team focused, accountability and strong work ethic necessary
- Ability to articulate processes and recommendations in a clear and concise manner
- Some working experience within Payroll/HR desirable
- Flexible working by agreement - minimum three days in office
