Westminster Kingsway College is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, learner-centred individual to lead the learning support provision to students with SEND. The successful candidate will coordinate and lead the learning support team, ensuring a reliable and effective support service for students with SEND across the college.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Coordination: Line manage a team of Learning Support Staff, including carrying out their PDRs, and manage their daily timetables.
- Student Assistance: Provide on-course assistance to students with learning difficulties or disabilities, enabling them to access the full range of college facilities.
- Curriculum Support: Assist lecturers in preparation and delivery of the curriculum, cover classes if required, and contribute to course design, review, and evaluation.
- Resource Management: Help identify appropriate resources for student learning and contribute to the development of learning resources.
- Student Monitoring: Monitor student attendance, support student retention, attainment, and progression, and assist with enrolment processes.
- Transport and Integration: Supervise transport arrangements for students who cannot travel independently and support LDD students during non-teaching times to aid their integration into college life.
About You:
You will be a committed and resourceful individual with a sound knowledge of the learning disabilities sector and the barriers faced by students. Your key skills will include:
- Allocating support work by matching skills of LSAs to learners' needs.
- Arranging effective cover for staff absences.
- Liaising with managers and teaching staff to ensure support is adequate and appropriate.
- Ensuring LSAs contribute to reviews and records of achievement.
- Developing strong links with managers of other schools within the college.
