Reeson Education is currently seeking motivated individuals to join our team as trainee teaching assistants, with the goal of transitioning into the field of education and contributing to an exceptional specialist college beginning in September 2024. We are looking for enthusiastic and sociable candidates who are comfortable working with students with special needs and are eager to apply their skills in an educational setting.
In this role, you will provide support to young adults aged 16 to 25 with special needs, both in small group settings and through individualized assistance. Your responsibilities will include aiding in vocational courses, guiding students in community settings, fostering independence, and assisting learners in developing employability skills. Additionally, you will play a key role in enhancing students' numeracy and literacy skills, as well as conducting engaging sessions such as cooking, music, and art.
Key Details of the Position:
- Location: Southwark, London
- Schedule: Monday to Thursday, with additional work opportunities available on Fridays
- Duration: Yearlong placement with the possibility of continued employment
- Class Size: Limited to a maximum of 6 to 8 students per class
- Support: Assisting students during lessons and providing one-on-one support as needed
- Environment: Promoting a positive and socially aware learning experience
- Learning Style: Encouraging sensory-based learning methods
- Community Involvement: Participating in community outreach activities with students
- Life Skills: Instructing essential life skills, including cooking, shopping, and promoting independence
This is a temporary position that will go permanent for the right candidate.
