Hays are seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join an upcoming organisation in Colchester. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you'll play a crucial role within the finance team ensuring the management of invoices.
Responsibilities:
- Process incoming payments runs in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, authorising, and recording accounts payable data.
- Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure accurate posting of all bills and payments.
- Investigate discrepancies by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements.
- Facilitate payment of invoices by sending reminders and contacting clients.
- Generate reports on accounts payable status.
Requirements:
- Proven working experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk.
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Data entry skills and proficiency with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
