Stories and Content Officer

Are you an excellent communicator with the skills to share the voices of older people, and bring our campaigns to life? Age UK is recruiting for a Stories and Content Officer to join our dynamic Brand and Content Team.

No one can describe the difference Age UK makes as well as the people whose lives we've touched, and in many cases changed forever. The post holder will liaise with colleagues across the charity and its network to identify, write, edit and store stories from a diverse range of backgrounds, whilst ensuring that the storyteller's welfare remains our highest priority.

We operate a hybrid-working model, a blend of home and office working. This role will include one day per week working from our London office. Your travel costs to the London office are not covered.

Age UK grade- 8L

Must haves:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Track record in identifying, writing and editing compelling stories
  • about people.
  • Experience of writing features and profiles (including examples).
  • Database proficiency.
  • Ability to handle emotionally challenging stories with sensitivity.
  • High levels of organisation and the ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Great to haves:

  • Experience of working at a charity in a Stories role.
  • Experience of customer relationship management systems.
  • Experience of using a Content Management System to upload content to a website.
