They operate from a new 39,000 square foot facility in Oxfordshire, equipped with engineering labs, custom test and validation facilities, and the manufacturing capacity to produce up to 20,000 units per annum.

The Opportunity:

I am recruiting for a Head of Test & Verification to join my clients exciting and dynamic team. In this role, you will lead the department ensuring that electric propulsion systems meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and reliability. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive test strategy for development and manufacturing phases.
  • Create detailed test plans, including schedules, resource allocation, and methodologies.
  • Lead and train a team of Test Engineers and Technicians.
  • Oversee the execution of tests, including setup, data collection, and analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace regulations, industry standards, and safety protocols.
  • Manage the maintenance and calibration of testing equipment and facilities.
  • Analyse test data and prepare comprehensive performance and reliability reports.
  • Identify and implement improvements in testing methodologies and equipment.
  • Evaluate and mitigate risks associated with testing activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Manage the budget for test activities and allocate resources effectively.
  • Interface with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with aerospace regulations.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors of testing equipment and services.
  • Maintain accurate records of test activities and results.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and environmental standards.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Proven experience leading a Test and/or Development Team.
  • Deep understanding of aerospace engineering, propulsion systems, and testing methodologies.
  • Significant experience in the aerospace industry with knowledge of DO-160, DO-178, and DO-254.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and motivate a team.
  • Project management experience, particularly in aerospace projects.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality assurance.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Ability to solve complex technical issues and troubleshoot problems.
  • Experience in risk assessment and management.
  • Ability to manage budgets and prioritize projects.
  • Innovative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Experience managing supplier and vendor relationships.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable to a dynamic work environment.
  • UK driving licence and ability to travel.
