We are seeking a Registered Manager for a children's home, offering a rewarding opportunity to lead a dedicated team in providing high-quality care and support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leadership and management within the care sector, specifically working with children and young people.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the children's home, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Lead and manage a team of care professionals, providing supervision, guidance, and support.
  • Develop and implement care plans that meet the individual needs of the children and young people in the home.
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing environment that promotes the welfare and development of the residents.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, staff, families, and external agencies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of care delivery and implement continuous improvement strategies.
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively, ensuring the home operates within financial targets.
  • Prepare for and participate in inspections by regulatory bodies, taking responsibility for achieving and maintaining high standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Must hold a Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce (CYPW) or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in a managerial role within a children's residential care setting.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent understanding of the needs of children and young people in care.
  • Knowledge of current legislation and regulatory requirements pertaining to children's homes.
  • Ability to work flexibly and respond to the changing needs of the service.
