Position
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our dynamic finance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a supportive and collaborative environment. At calfordseaden you will embark on a developmental journey to enhance your skills and knowledge in purchase ledger and management accounting. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will assist the purchase ledger and take responsibility for month-end processes, year-end audit and various ad-hoc reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the month-end process by preparing and posting journal entries as needed to reflect month-end adjustments, including depreciation, prepayments and accruals.
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Bank reconciliations
- Overseeing the postings made into subsidiary companies including intercompany reconciliations.
- Monitor and analyse accounting data to identify trends and variances.
- Work closely and actively support the wider finance team to ensure deadlines are met in an accurate and timely manner.
- Collaborate with purchase ledger to ensure accuracy of invoice coding and smooth running of payments made to suppliers and staff expenses.
- Assist the team with the running of Expense and Invoicing software.
- Assist preparations of the year-end accounts along with all relevant supporting documentation required for the external audit.
About You
- You will have proven experience within a previous finance role and be eager to learn a wide range of tasks performed in a Finance department. .
- Able to work to deadlines and prioritise workload.
- Proficient with Excel. Knowledge of Pivot tables, XLOOKUPS etc desirable.
- Experience working in a busy finance team.
- Experience working with Sage 200 desirable.
- Studying AAT or starting ACCA/CIMA
