Job Overview:

As a First Line Support Engineer Apprentice, you will support technical issues, perform proactive maintenance, and assist in configuring hardware and software. This role offers a dynamic environment for learning and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for hardware and software installations.
  • Install, configure, and support desktop operating systems and cloud services like Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Participate in ongoing training programs to expand technical skills.
  • Maintain accurate IT documentation and adhere to IT processes.

Desired Skills and Attributes:

  • Passion for technology and a desire to learn.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and operating systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and manage time effectively.
  • Relevant certifications or technical qualifications are advantageous.

Entry Requirements:

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
