Description
- Develop and implement buying strategies for fast-moving consumer products
- Evaluate supplier options according to prices, quality etc. and determine the best choices
- Collaborate with suppliers and negotiate contracts that achieve the most favourable terms
- Assess, manage, and mitigate risks in procurement processes
- Identify opportunities for impulse buy product range expansion and promotion
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
- Ensure the consistency of the quality of the items purchased
- Keep abreast of changes in the retail industry and adjust strategies as necessary
Profile
A successful Senior Buyer should have:
- Proven experience as a retail buyer, particularly in FMCG
- Strong negotiation skills with sourcing from the Far East
- Excellent analytical and commercial planning abilities
- Strong supplier base and contract negotiation skills
- Exceptional organisational and leadership skills
