HR MANAGER

We are recruiting for a highly driven and influential HR professional with experience working in a standalone HR role. You will be responsible for all aspects of the HR life cycle and collaborating with all employees across the site, supporting stakeholder management, and working with European teams on various Projects. Union experience is required for this role.

  • Supporting the Management Team on a wide range of HR-related matters, keeping abreast of the relevant internal and external developments, and translating these into tactical and operational policy proposals based on the organisation's objectives.
  • Recruitment and selection - Manage the recruitment and selection process.
  • Supporting the Senior HR Advisor on complex Employee Relations cases
  • Supporting line management with development and succession planning across the teams.
  • Proactively get involved with key data from induction feedback, staff turnover, gender pay and a range of other areas to give sound advice and help drive progressive culture forward.
  • Ensure implementation of absenteeism and reintegration policies, in compliance with UK Law and the company-specific policies on absenteeism and reintegration.
  • Manage the application of HR Policies/Procedures at the site, and act as a contact for management and employees, with regards to the application of regulations on terms and conditions (in compliance with the collective agreement and related regulations), to ensure a good follow-up of the HR policy.
  • Advise and coach managers on the management of discipline, grievance, absence and performance issues and act as HR attendee in such meetings to ensure all HR processes and procedures are followed.
  • Manage and proactively develop Industrial relations and communications processes - both with Employee representatives and with full-time officials.
  • Advising managers on the terms and conditions of employment and knowledge and share best practice with them.
  • Ensure systems are implemented, reviewed, and improved to ensure compliance with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations)
  • To develop, enhance and monitor all HR data and electronic filing systems ensuring compliance providing monthly KPI to the Site Management Team.
  • Continuous self-development within the field of expertise (HR), to ensure that expertise and credibility are reinforced, and services are continuously updated in line with developments.
  • Check and oversee all monthly payroll is processed correctly working closely with finance.
  • Supporting stakeholders on European HR Projects

EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND

  • Educated to degree level preferred with CIPD Level 5 or working towards CIPD Level 7
  • Proven experience acting as a HR Manager or working in a standalone HR role.
  • An excellent understanding of UK employment law and employment regulation.
  • Experience of working with Trade Unions and employee representatives. (Not essential as mentoring opportunities available)
  • Knowledge and experience updating terms and conditions and training managers on policies and procedures.
  • Developing and delivering classroom-based HR training to line managers
  • Ability to coach senior leaders and their teams to deliver business strategy and drive performance and capability improvement within their teams
  • Experience of LMS an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills that focus on simplicity and clarity of presentation, both written and oral.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a diverse team in terms of seniority, function and culture
  • Able to influence people at all levels of the organisation, and secure their buy in and commitment.
  • High energy and an ability to demonstrate resilience in achieving goals/targets.
  • Attention to detail and an ability to deliver to the highest standard, within rigid timeframes.
  • Travel to European group HR meetings

4 days on site, 1 day working from home due to the nature of the business

Working hours 8.30 - 4.30 Monday to Friday
