Residential Youth Support Worker
Duration: Initially 6 months
Hours: 37 hours per week (rota basis)
Rate: £17 umbrella an hour
East Sussex County Council are looking for a Residential Youth Support Worker to join their team based in Eastbourne. The Children's Homes are respite and residential that provide high quality care to children and young people aged 7-19 years
As a Residential Youth Support Worker you will:
- Provide effective day to day care and support in all aspects of daily living to the resident children
- Keep accurate records of daily events and incidents
- Contribute to the therapeutically informed care planning and risk management
- Liaise with external professionals
- Maintain and support effective relationships with families
- Participate in a working rota designed to meet the needs of the service and contribute to positive working relationships
- Undertake sleeping-in duties on a rota basis
Requirements
- QCF Level 2 in English or ability to pass assessment at interview
- QCF Level 2 in Maths or ability to pass a basic maths assessment at interview
- Interest in child development and willingness to learn
- Experience of working with children and young people
- Willingness to travel to children's homes other than designated work base
