HR with ER / People Advisor

This is a great opportunity for an HR professional wanting more experience and exposure in Employee Relations (ER) to join a fast paced, construction company Head Office. The People Advisor, reports into the Head of HR, and will have plenty of mentoring and support, to get involve in complex grievance and disciplinaries along with TUPE transfers and redundancies.

Salary of £36,000 plus £7,000 car allowance to a total of £43,000.

The role will require occasional, national travel, with potential overnight stay depending on the location. Roughly once a month but it isn't evenly spread.

The role is office based in Greenford.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support line managers with the management of ER cases through advice and coaching, ensuring approach is pragmatic and within an acceptable level of business risk
  • Build and develop effective, collaborative working relationships with managers
  • Develop the line managers' HR capability and people management competence, professionalism and consistency of approach.
  • Provide HR support for organisational change and restructuring activity and projects, supporting the line manager with redundancy situations.
  • Managing and supporting the TUPE process
  • Advisory and support on Employment Relations issues, including absence, disciplinary, performance and grievance issues and attend hearings in the capacity of an adviser/note taker.
  • Advice on Employment Law, working arrangements, contractual matters, employee communication and consultation, ensuring the Company is consistent and fair, meeting contractual and legal requirements.
  • Liaising, supporting and covering with HR Admin to include completing contracts, offer letters, references and change of details forms, starters, leavers etc.

Skills/experience

  • Solid experience in an HR environment with heavy focus on Employee Relations
  • Willing to travel throughout the UK - Clean driving license and own car required. (Occasional overnight stay).
  • Proficient IT skills including MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel including (macros, formulas, pivot tables & vlookup).
