Teaching Assistant - SEND School - South Liverpool
Tradewind Recruitment are working with a SEND Secondary School based in Liverpool. The school caters for pupils with a range of SEND, including ASD, ADHD and complex learning difficulties. The school is based over 3 sites, however this role will be at the site in Speke. The school is graded outstanding by Ofsted and they commented on the strong relationships between staff and students. They are looking for someone who supports this ethos.
Responsibilities:
- To work with the class teacher to support pupil's effective independent learning and progress.
- To prepare resources and the classroom for planned activities.
- To provide support for pupil's learning and care needs (intimate care when appropriate)
- To implement agreed behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour
- To work flexibly as part of the classroom team and to take part in the support and induction of new staff.
Requirements:
- A Level 2 Teaching Assistant or Health and Social Care qualification is desirable.
- Experience working with children or adults with SEND.
- A DBS on the Update service, or a willingness to apply for one.
- A full employment history
- A minimum of 2 references.
