Portfolio Manager

Salary: £600-£700 per day

Working Pattern: Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety is our number one priority - demonstrate safety leadership and promote a positive safety culture.
  • Support Capital Projects in achieving safety targets and implementation of S.H.E Plan to ensure S.H.E KPI's, metrics, and reports are accurate, up to date and that actions are closed in a timely fashion
  • Provide leadership to the Distributed Energy programmes to integrate planning, governance and project controls across their programmes of work.
  • Monitor and assure the delivery of project outcomes across the Capital Projects portfolio to time, cost, quality, ensuring any variances are highlighted and actioned.
  • Assess and trouble shoot project schedules to ensure appropriateness and robustness for achieving programme outcomes.
  • Responsible for coordination and submission of consolidated key risks and issues for the business unit Portfolio on a monthly basis.
  • Responsible for preparation and submission of consolidated KPIs for the business unit Investment Committee and Project Review Board.
  • Update and improve methodologies, work instructions, policies, standards and procedures for project controls.
  • Provide co-ordination and visibility of performance against budget and business plan targets.
  • Provide insight to the business unit leadership team and Enterprise Executive Committee and other key stakeholders on programme performance and risk.

What do you need?

  • Proven experience in the successful management and assurance of major programmes of work in the construction or utility infrastructure industries.
  • Proven commercial focus and financially astute.
  • Detailed knowledge of the principles of investment processes and procedures.
  • Detailed knowledge of the principles of Health & Safety, quality and environment legislation and best practice.
  • Experience of successful management in a matrix structure.
  • Knowledge and application appropriate assurance models.
  • Demonstrable experience of confidently building strong, diverse internal and external networks to unblock issues and achieve progress.
  • Demonstrable experience of promoting team agendas, breaking down barriers and focussing on the best outcomes.
  • Significant experience of creating clear standards, delegation and empowering others.
  • Demonstrable ability to differentiate between strategic and operational issues, collaborating with a range of external stakeholders and colleagues.
  • Highly developed stakeholder management skills including engaging, influencing and negotiating.
  • Excellent problem solver with an analytical mind.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
