We are working with a local authority in Blackpool to find a Project Accountant on a permanent basis.

Salary: £35,393 per annum

Hybrid: 4 days per week on site.
We are seeking a Project Accountant to provide strategic financial input and advice to the Project Management Team and Senior Management. This role involves a strong focus on the financial aspects of ongoing projects related to the implementation of the National Resources and Waste Strategy.
Key Duties:
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance reports for ongoing projects, providing financial advice and analysis to aid decision-making.
- Assist in the preparation of financial information for stakeholders, including the Board and Shareholder.
- Advise senior management on the financial standing of projects and identify areas of concern.
- Provide guidance on financial issues such as correct coding of invoices and credit control procedures.
- Tailor reports to Service Managers on budgetary performance and advise on corrective actions.
- Develop financial models for new business opportunities in conjunction with the Project Management Team.
- Assist in delivering performance targets and provide accurate reports for the company's senior management team and Board.
- Assist the Head of Projects and Business Development with project budgets and reporting.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent level qualification, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Qualified AAT Accountant or progressing towards an appropriate accountancy qualification (e.g., CIMA, CIPFA).
- Substantial knowledge of financial reporting and budget preparation.
- Experience in producing financial reports for a range of stakeholders.
- Experience in a finance team within a commercially driven organisation.
- Experience in developing budgets with service and project managers.
