About Us:
ICM are currently supporting a leading logistics in their quest for a skilled and dedicated Transport Planner, with working experience within pallet networks. Our clients cutting-edge facility spans over 100,000 square feet and accommodates 8,000 pallet spaces, supporting their commitment to excellence in logistics and transport solutions. They operate are a multi-modal site, dealing with pallet networks, groupage, warehousing and freight and are experiencing steady growth. This is a new and exciting role and they are looking for your skills and expertise.
The Role:
As a Transport Planner, you will play a pivotal role in their pallet operations. They have a fleet of over 20 vehicles and operate 24 hours a day. We are looking for someone who has really mastered their craft, understand the importance of money saving decisions, has great geographical knowledge of the SS and CM area and someone who can work with our drivers to ensure we are running the fleet at the most efficient and cost effective way. This is a new position, created in response to our recent and ongoing growth. We are looking for a professional with at least 3 years of experience in multidrop planning within the pallet network. Their drivers do between 20-24 deliveries and they deal with around 700 pallets per day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently plan and coordinate transport routes, focusing on the SS postcodes.
- Collaborate closely with drivers and warehouse operatives to ensure smooth operations.
- Utilise your strong geographical knowledge to optimize delivery schedules and routes.
- Monitor and manage transport activities to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
- Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders to address and resolve any logistical challenges.

What We're Looking For:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in transport planning within the pallet network.
- Someone who owns their plan and wants to see it through.
- Excellent geographical knowledge of the SS postcodes.
- Strong understanding of transport logistics and operations.
- Exceptional organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work with drivers closely to achieve operational goals.
- Ability to work closely with a team and manage time effectively.
