Suffolk County Councilare looking to recruit a Deputy Designated Social Care Officer to join ourteam based in Suffolk, on a full-time basis with flexible working options available. The successful candidate will earn a competitive salary of £45,380 - £48,597 per annum.

Suffolk County Council has pledged its commitment to improve services for Children and Young People with SEND. It features in the Suffolk corporate strategy and is a key priority for Suffolk major programmes.

As the Deputy Designated Social Care Officer, you will:

  • be based at Endeavour House,?Ipswich?and will be required to travel to and attend?other corporate buildings including West Suffolk House, Bury St Edmunds and Riverside, Lowestoft
  • have oversight and growth of the Social Care SEND Champions
  • develop practice resources and maintenance of the SEND Good Practice Guide
  • provide social care advice to a range of practitioners across the system
  • support the development and improvement of systems related to social care and SEND
  • attend and represent social care at a variety of panels
  • deputise for the Designated Social Care Officer for SEND when needed.

As our Deputy Designated Social Care Officer, you will need:

  • a passion for improving the lives of children, young people and families in Suffolk
  • comprehensive knowledge of SEND legislation, Children and Adult social care legislation, as well as policies and safeguarding practices
  • proven strategic leadership experience driving sustainable improvements within children's services
  • experience of multi-agency working within social care, health and education
  • Social Work Qualification (Desirable).
