Paying circa £55,000 + benefits and bonus depending on experience

Based in Central London (hybrid working model)

Talentedge are currently working with a leading Media / Publishing business who are currently looking to hire a Commercial Analyst to join their commercial finance team. This role is the perfect next step for individuals looking to develop their commercial acumen within fast paced dynamic working environment with excellent progression opportunities.

This person will play an integral role within the commercial finance function working directly with the senior business stakeholders to drive performance optimisation and will be the lead contact for unlocking operational efficiencies and driving process improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Business partner in a pro-active, commercially astute manner – develop expertise in relevant business areas, understanding key performance drivers and build strong relationships with senior business stakeholders
  • Explore and analyse data, extracting valuable insights to enable informed decision
  • Evaluate financial performance, and analyse key performance metrics to support the delivery of in-year targets; identify, evaluate, and drive actions on risks and opportunities
  • Developing management information and analysis – monitor and deliver high quality, timely management information
  • Ownership of budgets, forecasts, and business plans – provide financial leadership and analytical support to help shape business activity at a strategic and operational level
  • Model scenarios and advise on key assumptions and trade-offs, supporting the alignment of resources to strategic priorities
  • Lead the simplification and automation of financial modelling
  • Deliver/ review the monthly close; drive continuous improvement of processes, data integrity & strong financial control
  • Liaise with the Shared Service Function to deliver accurate management accounts and month-end reports

The Ideal person:

  • A professional accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Naturally inquisitive, with high quality analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; an ability to form strong relationships to challenge and influence assertively and cooperatively
  • Quality time management to deliver self-started work/ process improvement
  • Flexible and comfortable working outside a standard structure/ framework
  • A team player able and willing to deliver beyond their personal brief
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, specifically strong competency using Microsoft
  • Excel and PowerPoint
