Accounts Assistant Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and financial support to the company to ensure the purchase ledger function runs efficiently
- Process and code supplier invoices on the CRM and liaise with managers to ensure invoices are processed
- Make payments in accordance with company timescales and supplier payment terms
- Handle incoming account queries from suppliers, aiming to resolve queries effectively and efficiently
- Assist in the set-up and approval of ad-hoc payments
- Statement and bank reconciliation
- Produce a number of reports and duties to assist with debtors and month-end accounts
- Prepare VAT reports for companies in the UK, Spain and Germany
- Assist with sales ledger reconciliations when required
Accounts Assistant Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar Accounts Assistant role, with good knowledge of purchase ledger
- Demonstrate good organisational skills, able to meet strict deadlines and effectively prioritise
- Shows initiative and is capable of working both independently and as part of a team
- Articulate with superb communication skills, able to liaise at all levels internally and externally
- Good understanding of Excel and accounting software
- Possesses commercial acumen and understands best business practice
