An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Network Analyst to join our Network and Telecoms Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all information and communication facilities are available for use by our lifesaving staff and their supporting colleagues.

Your Role

As Senior Network Analyst, you will be responsible for analysing and diagnosing complex technical problems with existing systems.

Your responsibilities in this role will also include:

- To act as SME to the organisation for IP connectivity, networking, and associated technologies
- To act as technical lead for acceptance of new systems/applications from the Solutions team to be transitioned into BAU in a manageable, supportable package, ensuring acceptance criteria are met
- To work with internal and external teams to minimise impact of incidents and problems
- To identify new systems, and ways of working to improve efficiency, reduce cost and risk
- To ensure operational availability of RNLI voice and data networks, including monitoring and performing health checks of all information and communications, analyse current performance and forecast future demand, highlight any potential capacity shortfall
- Act as technical escalation point within network & telecoms for major incidents, liaising with 3rd party support partners, IT Solutions, and RNLI personnel at remote sites/lifeboat stations, as appropriate
- To lead the technical transition of new systems from solutions teams, ensuring criteria for user and technical acceptance testing, documentation, training, management are met in keeping with organisational goals and technical architectural principles
- To work closely with Solutions, Innovation, and development teams in providing input into their development and testing

About You

As Senior Network Analyst, you will be experienced and have relevant professional qualifications. You will have a deep understanding of networks, Cisco hardware and software in particular, equipment and a good understanding of Microsoft Teams. You will have strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines, while remaining calm and professional.

To be considered as Senior Network Analyst you will have:

- Cisco Certified Network Professional or equivalent experience over several years in similar environment, LAN, WAN, Wireless
- Firewall management and configuration experience, including defining policies, updating, management and troubleshooting of two or more of the following major vendors; Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Fortinet and Cisco ASA
- ITIL Foundation certification / experience of working in ITIL process driven environment
- Cisco based SDWAN, MPLS, site to site and remote access (IPSec and SSL) VPN; Thorough understanding of architectures, technologies and practical experience, IP traffic management
- Experience of managing and supporting a large network environment (50+ sites) with multiple WAN technologies
- Support experience of IP telephony and contact centre technologies
- Experience in a customer support, service-level based environment and able to demonstrate application of ITIL Excellence in customer service is essential
- Understanding of cloud networking (MS Azure preferred). Practical application of corporate security policies, standards, and practices. Experience of vendor management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio. Experience of Microsoft Teams implementations
- Ability to think on your feet, prioritise and perform in a very demanding, high pressure environment
