Position: Children's Residential Support Worker
Location: Pontypool and surrounding areas
Salary: £14.50 to £17.40 per hour
Job Type: Flexible working available, Adhoc as well as consistent work available

About Us

Randstad are currently working with a number of fantastic Childrens Residential homes in Pontypool and the surrounding areas. We provide experienced staff to support in residential homes - Whether that is supporting an increase to a staffing ration, covering sickness or annual leave or working full time in the home.

We are looking for people who have experienced working with young people who have experienced significant childhood trauma, mental health issues, involvement in county lines, and child sexual exploitation (CSE). We are committed to helping our client to support each young person develop resilience, build positive relationships, and achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support and care for young people in a residential setting.
  • Follow and deliver on the individual care plans and therapeutic interventions set by the home.
  • Assist young people in developing life skills and positive coping strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, therapists, and educators.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in regular training and professional development opportunities with Randstad - PBM/Team Teach & Your Health and Social Care Level 3!
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all residents through vigilant supervision and proactive risk management.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting children with challenging behaviour and childhood trauma is essential.
  • Previous experience in a children's residential home is advantageous but not completely essential.
  • A valid driver's license is required and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Must be registered or willing to register with Social Care Wales.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • A proactive and positive approach to problem-solving, domestic tasks and a general proactive nature.
  • Able to work as part of a team, but also think for yourself.
