Security Operations Supervisor - St James Retail Park

Purpose of the Role

To be a proactive and active presence and help ensure the smooth running of the Shopping Park during the day. To assist with all emergency situations when they occur, liaising with Savills management and the emergency services. The role also includes providing visible security cover to the Shopping Park, handling enquiries and concerns from tenants or the public, monitoring CCTV (by suitably trained and licensed staff) and controlling contractors to the Shopping Park.

Key Responsibilities

  1. To work the hours and shifts in accordance with conditions of employment.
  2. To undertake hourly patrols/inspections of the full Shopping Park, Car parks and Service yard areas as instructed by the RFM.
  3. To utilise a diester point system (where applicable) for all site patrols as instructed by the RFM/Area Security Manager.
  4. To carry out any other duties in accordance with instructions issued by RFM.
  5. To act as first point of contact to the tenants, frequently liaising with the tenants throughout each shift, whilst providing a proactive presence on the park. – This will include the collection of trade data on a monthly basis, including comments and turnover figures from each store and reported to the RFM.
  6. To comply fully with the Health & Safety Policy for the Shopping Park.
  7. To ensure all relevant company & legislative information is kept up to date, filed correctly and available for employees. Including but not limited to: Security Assignment Instructions, CCTV documents, risk assessments, contractor PPM certificates, COSHH documentation (if applicable).
  8. Assist in the development and implementation of security policies, protocols and operating procedures, and adherence to SIA guidance.
  9. Complete rotas, manage holidays and absence through the Timegate system and assist with payroll.
  10. Ensure all relevant training is up to date.
  11. To comply with their individual responsibilities to ensure that the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order are complied with, in line with company policy and site procedures.
  12. To ensure that the Rules & Regulations of the Shopping Park, Car parks and Service yards are complied with at all times.
  13. Ensure that all incidents are recorded in the Daily Occurrence Log and on DataStation and all serious incidents are reported to the National Operations Centre.
  14. Ensure that contractors arriving and working on site adhere fully, to company and site H&S procedures and policies to ensure the safety of public and staff on the park.
  15. Ensure that the Shopping Park and Car parks are a safe and pleasant environment.
  16. To assist with enquiries from the public and the tenants as required.
  17. To take a proactive approach to the day to day goings on of the park, including contractor management, defect reporting and checks of all areas of the park, maintaining regular reporting to the RFM.
  18. To be aware of and abide by all rules, terms and conditions of the company.
  19. Ability to interpret and utilise the Place Formatic's data to allow for monthly updates in conjunction with the tenant intel / anecdotal information.
  20. Proactive management to ensure site looks pristine.
  21. Arranging regular meetings with the local PCSOs and Police and other local Stakeholders, including the local Schools to ensure the park is deemed a destination of choice for all customers.
  22. Ensure that all the tenants are using the radio system for security and intel purposes.
  23. Develop an Action Plan for the constant improvement of standards on the Shopping Park.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Qualifications and experience:

Essential:

  • Good English written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of integrity
  • 5-year checkable employment record
  • Valid and Active SIA Licence – Security Guarding or Door Supervisor
  • First Aid Qualified
  • Supervisory/management experience

Desirable:

  • CCTV SIA licence

Working Hours - Full time, Monday to Friday 08:00 – 18:00

Salary - £30 - £34k per annum
