Robert Half are working with a well recognised business in central Leeds who are restructuring one of their teams with the recruitment of a Tax Manager. We are looking for a permanent candidate for this role but also an interim option to start as soon as possible.
Working with the Group and International Tax Manager you will map out plans to identify and address priority tax issues and maximise any potential VAT recoveries
Main duties will include:
- Support and oversee the VAT team, including ensuring the submission of the quarterly VAT returns and annual Partial Exemption and Capital Goods Scheme adjustments , for the group in line with statutory deadlines, and putting in place process efficiencies; utilising SAP and related reporting tools, MTD software and Microsoft Excel
- Ensure the integrity of data included in the VAT returns by implementing and managing appropriate review processes and using analytical methods to identify variances and areas of risk
- Oversee and support as required the Tax Helpdesk ensuring that appropriate advice is delivered to colleagues
- Maintain technical tax expertise through continuous personal development and attend conferences and training as required.
The role is based in a central Leeds location but has a very flexible hybrid policy which should allow you to spend up to four days a week working from home.
