We are seeking an experienced Senior Credit Risk Professional to support the strategic implementation and operational delivery of our Problem Debt Management Strategy. Job Purpose: As a Senior Credit Risk Professional, you will play a critical role in supporting our Head of Business Support and Recoveries. Your primary focus will be to manage delinquent and defaulted assets, aiming to restore customer health and minimise provisions while maximising recoveries efficiently. You will have the authority to approve restructuring proposals and will work collaboratively with senior credit officers across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute the organisation's problem debt management and recovery strategy.
  • Develop governance and controls within the Business Support function.
  • Ensure transparent and effective reporting with 1LOD business units.
  • Deputise for the Head of Business Support and Recoveries at senior forums.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders in both the First and Second Lines of Defence.
  • Identify problem exposures early and manage their addition to the Watch List.
  • Capture and report data for regulatory obligations.
  • Act as the Senior Credit Sanctioner, approving credit proposals within your delegated authority.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to staff on credit and problem loan management.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Significant experience in senior credit risk roles.
  • Hands-on experience with debt restructuring, work-out, and insolvency case management.
  • Strong awareness of the regulatory framework in lending, including Conduct and Compliance requirements.
  • Proven analytical skills with a deep understanding of risk control systems and reporting processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor and train staff.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to collaborate effectively with both risk and front-line teams.
