Time Plan Education are pleased to be working with a special needs school in the borough of Lewisham. They are recruiting teaching assistants with BSL Level 2 or 3. The shortlisted candidates will work 1:1 supporting students with hearing impairments and complex needs. These positions are full time, ongoing via the agency.

This multi-site school caters for pupils aged 11-19 with an EHCP for Autism (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). They have a strong academic focus; however, they also wish to develop student's independence in a fun and nurturing way.

The school requires skilled individuals who has worked with children or young adults with a hearing impairment, ideally this would be within a school or college setting. Experience with complex or medical needs is desirable. You will be required to support exchange and communication within the classroom, while also providing academic and emotional support. Experience with specialist resources, technology and learning materials is desirable. You may also be required to support students on school trips and after school clubs.

  • References available from a school or college setting
  • Minimum of Level 2 in BSL
  • A current DBS registered on the update service
  • Be able to commit to a long-term role full time
