I am seeking an experienced Buyer (General Merchandise), for a Brentford-based client who specialises in e-commerce solutions. My client prides themselves on providing exceptional service and seamless product delivery, shaping the future of the e-commerce industry. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in selecting, purchasing, and managing inventory levels, whilst liaising with various stakeholders.

Main duties:

  • Formulate and execute purchasing strategies that fulfil product demand and align with organisational objectives.
  • Perform market research to discover new products and potential suppliers.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure the best value.
  • Oversee inventory levels to ensure optimal stock is maintained.
  • Work with sales and marketing teams to predict demand and plan product assortments.
  • Track and evaluate product performance, making necessary adjustments to boost sales and profitability.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Analyze customer feedback to enhance products and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Plan product ranges to ensure a diverse and attractive selection.

Key requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience as a Buyer or Junior Buyer, preferably within the retail sector.
  • FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) experience would be beneficial.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office Suite.
