The College sees around 15,000 students each year enrol on courses, and their needs are at the heart of everything they do. They have 100% pass rates in around 50 courses delivered, as well as boasting some of the strongest partnerships with employers across Lancashire, which helps prepare students for life after college. Whether that's helping with future employment opportunities, or continued studies into higher education. The College has multi-million-pound facilities, including a fully set up TV Studio.

The role:

The postholder will be expected to have a major role in the development of maintenance of the colleges' school liaison operations. You will be expected to liaise with schools and other partners and organisations to promote the college, its courses and services to maximise student recruitment.

Duties of the position:

  • To coordinate the School Liaison operations in conjunction with the Head of School Partnerships
  • To lead on, develop and nurture relationships with key contacts at local high schools - Years 9, 10, 11, Heads and Careers contacts
  • To work with the Head of School Partnerships and Head of Marketing to develop strategies which ensure the achievement of recruitment targets
  • To attend and/or organise College representation at Years 9, 10 and 11 school events in all key schools (in and out of borough)
  • To lead on and deliver an outstanding College presentation to Year 11 pupils in the Borough and out of area partnership schools, to maximise full-time and Apprenticeship student recruitment
  • To increase the number of schools who participate in College Sampling events and ensure such events are quality-assured
  • To lead on the Sampling planning, logistics, and coordination. Updating the Sampling calendar, choice booklets and assemblies. Carrying out scheduling and timetabling. Arranging transport, catering, entertainment, welcoming packs and staffing
  • To promote and coordinate the Master Class programmes
  • To work with the Head of School Partnerships to ensure appropriate Student Ambassadors are recruited to support appropriate School Liaison activity (if required)

What you need:

  • IAG Level 3 Qualification
  • Clean and Full Driving License
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Marketing/Events, or a related subject
  • Must be able to adopt a flexible approach to working hours and fluctuating work schedules, including evenings and weekends, use initiative and make decisions, and communicate effectively and in writing at all levels of the organisation and with external contacts
  • A willingness to work flexibly and outside of normal office hours
