I am recruiting for a Finance Manager to join a fast-growing and forward-thinking digital scale-up with ambitious growth plans.
Day-to-day of the role:
Bookkeeping:
- Manage the Finance Assistant to ensure the accurate and timely posting of all financial records.
Financial Reporting:
- Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of monthly & quarterly management accounts.
- Work with external accountants to produce the annual financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP.
- Manage the preparation of VAT returns and other regulatory filings.
Payroll Management:
- Manage the external payroll provider, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing for all employees.
- Handle payroll-related queries and ensure prompt resolution of any issues.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and ensure the company's payroll processes comply with the latest regulations.
Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Prepare and present detailed financial reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics and performance indicators.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
Cash Flow & Working Capital Management:
- Monitor and manage the company's cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for ongoing operations.
- Implement strategies to improve cash flow forecasting and management.
Cost Control & Operational Efficiency:
- Review and control operational expenses, ensuring they align with budgetary constraints.
- Collaborate with other departments to drive process improvements and enhance financial efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising on service quality.
Strategic Financial Partnering:
- Act as a key financial advisor to the leadership team, providing insights that drive strategic business decisions.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration to support overall business success.
- Support finance transformation activities.
- Participate in strategic projects.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree.
- Professional Certification: APA, ACCA, CIMA part or fully qualified. Study support available.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a fast-paced, commercially focused finance team.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills & Xero (Required). Power BI (Desired).
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
