Fabricator

Your new role
The key tasks, responsibilities and accountabilities for the post holder include:

  • Reading and understanding product schematics and assembly instructions.
  • Mig welding, metal drilling, tapping, cutting and assembling products.
  • Grind, sand, polish and detail fabrication to a required finish using hand and power tools.

Actively taking part in product development meetings.

  • Ensuring that all the required parts for assembly are present and are properly fitted, aligned and screwed.
  • Ensuring that quality control standards are met and quality checking your own work.
  • Maintaining a production schedule and working to deadlines.
  • Reporting and detailing product malfunctions.
  • Manage a variety of tasks and build different types of products from raw resources.
  • Complete the relevant documentation, indicating any problems with manufacturing, or any further instructions provided.
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision when required, using your own initiative.
  • To be flexible and assist other Departments/Supervisors when required.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Apprentice trained, or time served fabrication experience.
  • Relevant training and/or certification as a Fabricator.
  • Good experience, skills & qualifications in Mig welding and positional welding.
  • Proven work experience as a Fabricator or similar role.
  • Comfortable reading engineering drawings.
  • A multi-skilled person with the natural ability to produce quality bespoke components & structures using automated machinery and hand tools.
  • Excellent eyesight and colour vision.
  • A team player with a positive, can-do attitude and a good communicator.
