We are a modern and forward-thinking online tax consultancy, providing self-assessment preparation services to individuals located worldwide, primarily for those with rental income.
This is a key role within a growing firm, in your position as Bookkeeper you will primarily be tasked with preparing income and expenditure accounts for rental businesses and assist with collating large volumes of transactions to help prepare tax disclosures spanning up to 20 years.
Alongside prior experience in an accountancy or tax practice, the ideal candidate will have meticulous attention to detail, is eager to learn and is not afraid to ask questions to expand their knowledge. A natural ability to communicate clearly with both colleagues and clients will also be of key importance for success in this role.

This is a permanent position of 22.5 - 30 hours per week. Salary of £25,000 to £30,000 (pro rata) depending on experience, plus:
- 30 days holiday including bank holidays plus an additional day for each year of service (pro rata);
- Flexible working policy - fully remote home based role (core hours are between 10am and 3pm);

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of landlord clients to assist with their figure preparation, acting as the main point of contact;
- Review financial documents to prepare accurate rental accounts required for self-assessment returns on both cash basis and accrual methods of accounting;
- Preparing basic self-assessment tax returns for individuals alongside quarterly MTD updates;
- Liaising with clients to obtain all missing information;
- Entering and updating CRM system and tax software with client information.
Required Skills & Attributes:
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients requesting any required documents in a timely manner whilst provide excellent client care
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and be self motivated
- Excellent presentation skills and attention to detail for both written and numerical data.
