Job Advert: Full-Time Teaching Assistant - Specialist Unit

Contract Type: Full-Time (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM)

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team in a specialist unit within a large primary school in Sheffield. This full-time role will involve supporting KS1 and KS2 pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and behavioural challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with ASD and behavioural issues, helping them access learning in a way that meets their individual needs.
- Assist in the specialist unit, working closely with teachers and other staff to support students' academic and personal development.
- Help implement behaviour strategies and promote positive social interactions in line with the students' individual education plans.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where all pupils can thrive.
- Work collaboratively with school staff, external agencies, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for each child.
Requirements:
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant Qualification (essential).
- Team Teach certification (desirable).
- Experience working with children with ASD and behavioural challenges, particularly in a primary school setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a commitment to inclusion.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviours with confidence
- A team player with a passion for supporting children's growth and development.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM.
