The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled and accomplished Operations Director to play a pivotal role in the newly structured Leadership Team for this successful manufacturing concern. This significant role is key to driving onward growth strategy and establishing the business as a world-class manufacturer.

As Operations Director, you will oversee and manage all aspects of the manufacturing facilities, procurement, facilities management, and distribution/logistics across two sites. You'll lead a team of 30+ employees, manage associated financial budgets, and ensure the alignment of operational goals with the company's broader strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage manufacturing facilities and employees across two sites.
  • Set and achieve goals for productivity, safety, quality, service, and financial performance.
  • Balance customer needs with operational effectiveness.
  • Drive lean and process improvement initiatives to enhance financial performance.
  • Implement robust manufacturing systems to achieve world-class performance.
  • Develop operational strategies and ensure the delivery of operational plans aligned with the company's strategic direction.
  • Establish and manage all operational KPIs and report performance to senior stakeholders.
  • Lead the team by fostering a motivating environment and encouraging excellence.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in leading variable batch manufacturing environments.
  • Practical experience with world-class manufacturing methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of business financials and commercial acumen.
  • Experience in a senior management role within SME manufacturing, preferably in the print industry (flexo, digital, tape/labelling).
  • Exceptional communication skills and a proactive approach.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Minimum HND or equivalent in Business & Engineering
  • 5+ years in a similar role, experience running a manufacturing facility and multiple sites.

Desirable:

  • FMCG manufacturing experience, working in the print industry
  • Degree in Business & Engineering
  • 10+ years in a similar role
  • LSS Black Belt accredited qualification
