Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Heating Engineer to perform various tasks related to installing and maintaining domestic heating systems. The role involves setting up, commissioning, and troubleshooting heating systems in homes under the scheme. This position operates Monday to Friday and reports to the Operations Manager. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated experience as a heating engineer with residential system installations and upgrades
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting heating system schematics and diagrams
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety procedures, legal regulations, and guidelines
  • A diploma in relevant vocational training or a completed apprenticeship as a plumber/heating engineer
  • Gas Safe registration
  • Excellent time management skills, punctuality, and commitment to job completion
  • Strong organizational abilities and multitasking skills
  • A professional demeanor with excellent customer service skills
  • Proactivity, problem-solving skills, and the ability to use initiative
  • Willingness to work away from home Monday to Friday as needed
  • Ability to commute to and from Blackburn (BB1)

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience or qualifications in domestic ASHP installations

Key Responsibilities

As a Heating Engineer with our client, you will be central to their operations, performing a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Installing heating systems in residential properties throughout the UK (excluding NI & IRE) to meet required standards
  • Collecting photographic evidence of installations to ensure compliance
  • Executing installation plans for heating systems, including first-time central heating, boiler upgrades, heating controls, time & temperature zone controls, and possibly Air Source Heat Pumps
  • Performing basic plumbing tasks such as radiator removal/reinstallation, pipe extension, system refilling, and ensuring heating functionality for customers
  • Conducting remedial work post-installation to ensure customer satisfaction

What's Offered

The successful candidate will start with a salary ranging from £35,000 to £40,000, depending on experience. Additional benefits include:
