My client, a professional membership organisation is currently recruiting for a Membership Assistant.

The purpose of the role is to operate as part of the wider Membership Team to administer/deliver the end-to-end membership operational processes for new and renewing members. The role includes processing membership applications and fees, maintaining their CRM; financial reconciliation; delivering the annual renewal process to ensure maximum retention of renewing members; providing outstanding levels of customer service.

The role is a customer contact role with extensive engagement with candidates, existing members, potential members, employers; and other stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities of the Membership Assistant:

  • To deliver the membership operational process for the end-to-end membership journey, from potential leads to joining, renewing, reinstating, and upgrading / changing membership class. This includes processing applications and fees as part of one end to-end process.
  • To review, process and elect the following applications: Students, Licentiates Affiliates, Retired, reinstatements, resignations.
  • To administer the membership operational policies, including Leave of Absence; concessionary fees; and ensuring their membership requirements are met.
  • To deliver the annual membership renewals to maximise member retention, including the collection and processing of income, concessionary fees, outbound calling and member resignations.
  • Work closely with the Membership Operations Manager to ensure accurate reconciliation and reporting for membership income.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support to all existing and potential new members to maximise membership acquisition and retention; responding to written and telephone enquiries; and managing inboxes.
  • To maintain and update their Membership database, using Microsoft Dynamics.

Essential Skills:

  • A strong customer focus, able to communicate with members & stakeholders in a professional & effective manner.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Able to plan, organise and prioritise work effectively, whilst at times, working on own initiative.
  • Able to meet deadlines whilst ensuring a high quality of work
  • Good IT skills / MS Dynamics, experience of using databases/CRM systems.
  • Experience working in a membership organisation (desirable).
  • An understanding of the operational complexities of a professional body (desirable).
