Job Title: Group Financial Reporting Accountant

Summary of this role:

The Group Financial Reporting Accountant plays a critical role in the finance function at the Renewable energy company with responsibility for all things accounting and reporting related, as well as leading on financial controls, audit work, day-to-day treasury, and financial systems. Alongside strong technical accounting and systems skills and an understanding of the importance of internal controls, the Group Financial Reporting Accountant will possess high levels of EQ, enabling them to successfully take a leading role in the finance team and work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

Salary range:

  • Up to £80,000, depending on experience

What you will do: Duties and Responsibilities

Core Tasks, Responsibilities & Duties

Financial and Management Reporting

  • Preparation of monthly and annual financial reports, in accordance with IFRS.
  • Lead the relationship with external auditors.
  • Monthly management reporting and variance analysis.
  • Support the production of the monthly management accounts, working with the wider finance team to ensure the results are accurate and that insightful commentary on the results/variances is prepared.
  • Identifying areas for improvement in processes and reporting.
  • Implement changes in IFRS accounting standards across the organization

Accounting Operations

- Assistance in group treasury and working capital requirements.

Financial Controls

  • Ensure high-quality, effective financial controls are in place and applied rigorously.
  • Work with external auditors to test, assess and improve all financial controls and protect the integrity of all financial reporting, accounting systems, and effective capital expenditure controls.

Financial Systems

- Lead on all financial systems work including automation and ensuring that systems strategy meets the needs of the organization.

M&A Integration

- Help to integrate new subsidiaries into the Renewable energy company's reporting framework.

People

  • Responsible for coaching, mentoring, and developing the finance function.
  • Act as a role model for the Group's values, embedding a coaching style of leadership, which empowers and encourages high performance.
  • Qualified accountant - preference for ACA qualified with 12-18 months experience in industry
  • Excellent technical accounting skills with high attention to detail and a firm grasp on the numbers.
  • A strong, enthusiastic, and credible leader, who supports and inspires service excellence and accountability.
  • Prior exposure to managing transactional and reporting finance teams an advantage.
  • The candor and emotional intelligence to effectively work with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand complex reporting structures.
  • Experience of successful business change and improvement, particularly around systems.
  • Prior M&A integration experience an advantage.
