The role:

  • Reporting into the Head of Business Insights, you will encompass the entrepreneurial spirit of the company and improve commercial knowledge by referencing external market analysis against internal trends.
  • Drive the growth of the company by identifying areas to increase profitability.
  • The business insight analyst will work alongside the sales team in all sectors (for example, to maximise ROI or the adoption of new product listings) and strategically and tactically support through the provision of insightful internal and external trends on customers, products and sectors.
  • The business insight analyst will consider how market insights can be used alongside pricing strategies to increase the market share.
  • The business insight analyst will be integral to the reporting of internal and external insights to the business.
  • The role includes involvement in many fast-paced projects and customer centric initiatives.
  • As the business insight analyst, you will work with the head of business insights, marketing and the sales director to gain a deeper understanding of how the market insights and pricing tactical strategies can boost the market share.
  • The business insight analyst is responsible for reviewing new financing and business modelling opportunities.
  • PowerPoint & Excel training is also delivered by the business insight analyst, who is responsible for giving up to date knowledge and promote continuous improvement within the company.
  • Other ad hoc work.

Ideal candidate:

  • For the business insight role, you may have recently graduated and have 1 year's relevant industry experience, or you may be working within the retail or FMCG industry in a relevant role.
  • The business insight analyst will be highly commercial and thrive in a fast paced, evolving environment.
  • The business insight analyst will have a strong IT aptitude and be familiar with an ERP system (preferably Microsoft 365 & Power BI).
  • The business insight analyst must be proficient in excel and other Microsoft packages.
  • The successful business insights analyst will be analytically minded, an excellent communicator and work well alone or as part of a team.
  • The business insights analyst will be a graduate with a business or numerate degree (or equivalent).
  • Ideally, the business insight analyst will come from an FMCG/Retail/Entrepreneurial background.
  • The business insight analyst must have high levels of organisation and be able to effectively meet deadlines.
