SEN Teaching Assistant wanted at a Mainstream Primary School in Walthamstow, E11!
Classroom Support are currently searching for a SEN Teaching Assistant who is keen, energetic and, most importantly, passionate about working with children with special educational needs (SEN).
We are looking for a positive, energetic SEN Teaching Assistant. Ideally, you will have experience working in the classroom and/or experience supporting children with various forms of SEN or learning difficulties such as Autism or ADHD.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside the classroom teachers and assist them in the planning and implementation of lessons designed to support pupils with various forms of SEN. You will be a key member of staff providing general support in lessons and/or 1:1 support for pupils depending on their individual planned needs.
A successful SEN Teaching Assistant will be positive, bright and provide plenty of encouragement to pupils in the classroom. You will need to be open-minded, resourceful and be an asset to the school's culture and a positive figure in the Walthamstow community.
If successful, you will begin on a long-term supply role (at least 12-14 academic weeks) with a permanent contract potentially available for excellent performance.
There is a highly competitive rate of pay which is £425-475 a week for working hours of 8.30am-3.30pm.
Working days are Monday-Friday, term-time only. To start in May 2024 or ASAP.
Candidate Requirements
- Must have experience of working in a school in the past two years.
- Must have experience working with students with SEN.
- Must have or be willing to pay for an enhanced DBS (costs £52.20) and must be registered on the update service (£13 a year).
- Advantageous to have previous tutoring/mentoring experience.
- Advantageous to have Care-based experience.
- Candidates should ideally live in Walthamstow or be willing to commute to Walthamstow, E11.
