About Us: The School ZEN Educate is dedicated to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for boys aged 8-16 who struggle to cope with mainstream educational settings due to their social, emotional, behavioural, or communication needs. We are committed to helping our students achieve their full potential by offering tailored support and education.

Role Overview: As a Part-Time Art and DT Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and creative lessons that meet the needs of our students. You will create a supportive learning environment that encourages artistic expression and technical skills. Your ability to manage challenging behaviour and provide individualized support will be crucial in helping our students succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Art and DT lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with SEMH needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student engagement and learning.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and therapists to ensure holistic support for students.
  • Participate in school activities and events that promote student engagement and wellbeing.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialization in Art and/or Design Technology.
  • Experience teaching in a secondary school setting.
  • Experience supporting students with SEMH needs.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to working with students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
