Compliance Specialist

Exciting newly vacant role with a growing furniture manufacturer and wholesaler! Working with the SLT, supply chain and customers you will be working as the Product and Compliance Specialist.

The role, which will involve periodic travel to the Far East, requires liaison with potential new and existing suppliers, assessing and evaluating their standards and audit capabilities and, managing and assisting them from the onboarding process through to the delivery of end product to ensure customer requirements are met.

Full oversight of Quality, Technical and Product Regulatory compliance is required as is the need to stay up-to-date with the latest manufacturing technologies, materials and production techniques to enhance quality and innovation whilst putting safety, environmental impact and sustainability at the forefront of the process.

Building relationships is critical to this role both externally and internally. Strong collaboration is required with the company's Commercial and Operations Teams to ensure all aspects of the business support the cycle of the product.

You will work closely with our key account managers to drive continuous improvement. In addition, you will work with initiatives such as HIGG, EUDR, SMETA and customer driven action plans.

Your responsibilities as Product and Compliance Specialist will include:

  • Quality Assurance - delivered through robust quality testing and audit against specific customer requirements
  • Regulatory Compliance - translating regulatory requirements into clear product specifications to ensure all product meets or exceeds safety and customer standards
  • Supplier compliance - regular audits of suppliers including people, raw materials, processes etc
  • Customer meetings - getting in front of customers as technical lead and demonstrating your expertise and know how.
  • Environment and ethical management - HIGG, EUDR, SMETA, and customer specific actions plans.

This is a key role in the organisation - you need to build an effective and influential network through suppliers, internal colleagues and key customer contacts and leverage these relationships to build trust.

Our ideal candidate will have experience working in a similar role within retail or supply chain, ideally within furniture. Experience working with compliance software would be brilliant (Track Record Global, Veriso, SMETA).
