About the Role:
Academics Crawley is currently working with a well-regarded secondary school in the Crawley area to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher for a full-time role starting in September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking science department committed to delivering engaging and high-quality science education.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach General Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the ability to specialise in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics. Experience teaching Key Stage 5 is welcomed but not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver well-planned, creative, and differentiated lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Monitor and assess student progress effectively, providing clear and constructive feedback
- Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity and independent thinking
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to departmental planning and school-wide initiatives
- Participate in staff development and wider school life, including parents' evenings and CPD events
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)
- A strong academic background in a science-related subject
- Excellent subject knowledge and a genuine passion for teaching science
- Effective behaviour and classroom management skills
- A commitment to high standards and continued professional development
