General Manager

We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven leader to be our next General Manager, responsible for one of our outstanding Hotels in York. Providing exceptional guest service and hospitality is our passion; our guests and our team are at the heart of everything we do.

Your day to day;

  • Be a sharp, confident and a true leader
  • Work with and develop a high performing team to ensure they have the passion and dedication to deliver warm and friendly hospitality
  • Consistently be standard and quality driven to provide operational excellence by delivering our brand standards and guest experience plans
  • Have a commercially minded approach to drive hotel sales and to be the top-end quality hotel in the area
  • Deliver on the company culture of inspiring leadership with positivity, energy and creativity.

Who are we looking for?

You will need to be proactive and a good communicator, ensuring the continued smooth running of the business. As General Manager, you will be comfortable collaborating with other senior leaders in our group. Sharing best practices on operations, recruitment, retention and developing talented individuals. From your experience you will be able to identify ways that business strategy, customer profile, culture and constraints influence the development of a creative, profitable and competitive product. You will be able to foresee market and business scenarios that present risks and opportunities to the business.

Business acumen and experience with preparing P&Ls is essential. We are looking for someone who can set measurable, challenging goals for all team members, finding ways to improve staff' knowledge and their approach by coaching and mentoring all managers.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join our family business in one of our outstanding luxury hotels, located in the heart of York. This is a busy property that requires a General Manager with the passion to deliver the best hospitality for our guests, as well as engaging and motivating their team.

This role is ideal for an experienced Operations Manager from a 4* Hotel background, or a General Manager from a small property, looking to develop their career.
