Maintenance Engineer

Posted by Grundon.

Whether you are keen to use your Level 3 NVQ Diploma in an Engineering discipline in your first preventative maintenance role, or you already have experience as a hands-on engineer in industry (maybe manufacturing or a treatment facility), we have just the job. As Maintenance Engineer at our industry-leading hazardous waste transfer station facility in South Oxfordshire, where materials from aerosols to paint are treated and processed, you will develop an in-depth knowledge of all plant and equipment used on site. You'll need a questioning mind, interest in how things work and enthusiasm to improve and make efficiencies, as well as being happy to work outdoors. Interested? We're offering a permanent contract, starting salary of circa £33-36k and a host of great benefits, including:

- Discretionary company bonuses

- Pension scheme (you contribute 5% of pay, Grundon matches this) with life insurance cover

- 31 days' annual leave (inclusive of 8 bank holidays), which will increase with service, plus the option to buy up to 5 extra days' holiday

What you'll be doing as Maintenance Engineer

You will establish preventative maintenance schedules and carry out reactive maintenance when issues arise - think forklift trucks, 360 excavators, waste processing plant and specialist equipment. There's lots to do, including ensuring that site operations comply with strict standards, ‘on the job' training of transfer station staff, liaising with contractors and contributing ideas.

What we are looking for in our Maintenance Engineer

Maybe you've grown up around machinery, enjoy working on cars or have other practical interests, and you have a personality that gets the best out of people, from colleagues to contractors. In addition to your engineering qualification, you'll need a driving licence and your own transport due to the site location.

Working hours: 7am-4pm or 9am-6pm Mon-Fri, rotated on a fortnightly basis. A total of 40 hours per week
